There are numerous Bible verses about love, and they cover the subject of love in its many different forms.
There are passages that speak of romantic love (Eros), brotherly love (friendship), and divine love (agape). We have decided to concentrate this small collection of verses on Eros.
So, what exactly IS Eros?
In Greek mythology, Eros was the God of Love and his name has been associated with romantic love for thousands of years. Strangely, he is personified in the modern world as a small chubby cherub clutching a bow, and we often speak of the analogy of “an arrow to the heart” to depict being smitten with love.
In fact, there is no actual reference to Eros in the Bible, but Eros – or erotic love – IS portrayed in the Old Testament as the physical, sensual love between a husband and wife and that sex outside of marriage is forbidden.
Of course, the world has changed somewhat since Biblical times, and these limitations no longer apply in many societies. However, this fact is beyond the scope of this article, so we’ll get back to what many people believe is the word of God on this subject, as exemplified in the Bible.
Here is our selection of some Bible verses about love:

how a man loves a woman.

If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
10. Corinthians 13:4–8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails
