How To Find Out If Someone Is Married

Why is it important to know if someone is married or not?

For most people in most circumstances it simply doesn’t matter. But if, for example, you are dating someone, and the relationship starts to get serious, marital status is an important factor.

So, how do you determine if the person is married without paying a private investigator?

One option is to use free resources, such as social networking and websites. Alternatively, there are companies which offer to find the information for a fee.

Sometimes, that fee can be quite high, so you should consider undertaking the checking for yourself.

If you have an idea in which city the marriage may have taken place, you can go to the local courthouse. Wedding records are also available on the local government website.

Apart from social media sites, you can use search engines such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing, to find information from old wedding announcements, church bulletins and wedding vendor websites that contain information about a weddings.

If all of the suggestions above seem too complicated or devious to find out if someone is married, there is another way.

Just ask the person in question or – close friends and family of the person – for an answer.

If you find the direct approach too difficult or embarrassing, you will have to take the indirect route in the form of a “questions strategy.”

It’s almost as if you have to turn yourself into a human lie-detector!

You need to prepare a list of questions to memorize. Whenever you see or talk to your date, ask one question from your list.

Many of the questions are the usual ones that can crop up in any conversation. Whatever you do, don’t make it seem like an interrogation.

Here are some suggestions for questions you can ask, but you can add others you feel are relevant:

  1. The first, and most obvious, is simply to ask: Are you married?
  2. Were do you work?
  3. What are your home and cellphone numbers?
  4. How old are you?
  5. Any children from a previous relationship?
  6. What are your interests and hobbies?
  7. Do you go to a gym? Which one and where is it?
  8. Have you been married before?
  9. What are your home and work addresses?
  10. Where were you born?

The more questions you ask, the easier it will be for you to detect any lies. The trick is to listen and remember the answers that you’re given. Check them out when you can; be sure to write down the answers.

If your date is lying, then he or she will slip up sooner or later, and contradict a previous answer.

You have to be very good to tell convincing lies and keep them going for an extended period of time. Only the most accomplished liars and confidence tricksters can do this convincingly.

Apart from finding out if a person is married, you can also check on other aspects of their life.

For example, you can find out if they have a criminal record or arrest warrants and a lot more interesting and useful information about them. You can do this online in a few minutes.

Anyway, it’s only prudent to carry out a background check on anyone you meet, before you decide to get serious with them. Online background checks are confidential.

In addition, though we may be stating the obvious, never have sex with your date before they take a test for HIV or other sexually transmitted diseases.

Unfortunately, none of the above is very romantic. But the media is full of stories of horrific things happening to people which could have been prevented had they taken these few simple precautions.

Finding out if someone is married should be established before advancing any further in a relationship.

Unless you don’t care!
