What is it that makes a dog cute?
Obviously that decision is very subjective, but one common factor is that, in this case at least, “size matters.” For cute dogs the basic rule seems to be the smaller, the better. Most websites select the smaller breeds, and, generally, the hairier the better. Bald dogs don’t have the requisite “cuddly quality” to be judged “cute.”
Puppies don’t count because they are always cute – it’s just that some of them lose their cuteness when they grow up.
Life Daily has made a survey of the market to come up with our selection of 10 really cute dogs.
Browse through the list to see if you agree:
1. Yorkshire Terrier
The Yorkshire Terrier is a dainty, lively, affectionate, happy, energetic, confident and devoted dog. He craves attention, love and togetherness.
2. Shih Tzu
The Shih Tzu is a loving, friendly, gentle, playful, loyal and happy dog. He loves people and bonds with the entire family. He needs to give and receive a great deal of love and affection. He likes to be petted, held, cuddled and pampered, and he is happy just napping on the couch for hours.
3. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a gentle, sweet, loving, happy, playful, wonderful companion, but he can’t be left alone for long. He’s social and gets along well with other dogs, cats, and pets. However, he makes friends so quickly that he doesn’t make a very good watchdog!
4. Pomeranian
The Pomeranian is vivacious, independent, outgoing, playful, and affectionate and is quick to learn new tasks, which makes him very easy to train
5. American Cocker Spaniel
The American Cocker Spaniel is a sweet, affectionate, fun-loving, devoted, trusting, playful, working dog who wants nothing more in the world than to please you. He craves human companionship and thrives on family life.
6. Miniature French Poodle
The Miniature Poodle is a lively, sensitive, playful, loyal, energetic, happy and loving dog who becomes attached not just to one person but to the entire family. However, he will turn mischievous and destructive if he is ignored or neglected.
7. Lhasa Apso
The Lhasa Apso is assertive, confident, protective, devoted, affectionate and steady. He bonds very closely with his owner and prefers adults over children. He is loving, outgoing, playful, and mischievous with his family, but aloof and suspicious with strangers.
8. Dachshund
The Dachshund is a bold, tenacious, devoted, loving and protective dog. He has lots of energy and can be an intense pet to live with, but he is also playful, fun, happy and outgoing. He makes an excellent and dependable watchdog because his bark sounds like it’s coming from a much larger dog
9. Pug
The Pug is a gentle, sensitive, happy, outgoing, playful, loyal and deeply loving dog. Even though he has a good bark, he doesn’t generally make a good watchdog because he is instantly welcoming and cheerful with visitors. He loves to be cuddled and petted and needs a great deal of attention.
10. Pekingese
The Pekinese is a proud, confident, independent, and protective dog who is sensitive and affectionate to his owner. He is quite often a one-person dog, and is generally wary and aloof with strangers. He makes a good watchdog because he is loyal and fearless.
