Stephen Glenn “Steve” Martin was born in Waco, Texas on August 14, 1945.
He is a man of many talents including comedian, actor, musician, author, screenwriter, film producer and voice actor.
Martin became known initially as a writer for the Smothers Brothers Comedy hour on TV. Later he appeared on The Tonight Show.
During the 1970’s Steve Martin performed as a stand-up comedian from which many of these quotes originated.
In later years he gave up stand-up in favor of acting for which he received a number of Emmy, Grammy and American Comedy awards.
In 2004, Comedy Central ranked Martin at sixth place in a list of the 100 greatest stand-up comics. He was awarded an honorary Oscar at the Academy’s 5th Annual Governors Awards in 2013.
