Racism, for centuries, has been an infamous weapon used to inflict nothing but harm wherever it strikes. There is no protection from it, as it can affect all ages, genders, and nationalities.
That is the undeniable, and bitter truth. An elderly man who wanted to go out for a walk found himself in a violent situation, and it all rooted in his heritage.
Out For A Walk
It was a beautiful night in Los Angeles. The breeze was subtle, the temperature was perfect, and it was a perfect time to go out for a nice walk. And that’s exactly what 92 year old Rodolfo did, when he was visiting the city from Mexico. Little did he know, this walk would be far from nice…
Long Life
Rodolfo strolled by the streets, enjoying the full view of the stars. He took a deep breath, and took a moment to pray, grateful for everything he had. He had a long life so far, and it was one he treated delicately. But on this night, “delicately” would be the complete opposite of how he’s treated…
Encounter
He saw a little girl with her mother standing on the sidewalk, obstructing his path. A simple thing that most people would do in this situation is to walk around the people; and that’s what Rodolfo did. This simple action, although seemingly small, would end up giving him the worst beating in his life.
Deranged Mother
By accident, he bumped the little girl while going around her. That was just a minor accident that people make all the time, right? Not to the hateful mother, who immediately started sprinting towards him…
Ludicrous Reaction
Rodolfo turned his head to find the mother, named Laquisha, lunging at him like a maniac, and tackling him to the ground. He hit the back of his head on the concrete, which pained him even more due to his age. He was startled by this, as he did nothing to make her act this way…
Beginning Of Assault
Instead of fighting back, the man politely asked the woman why she was attacking him while putting his hands up defensively. Her only response was a punch right to his nose, eliciting a scream of pain from Rodolfo.
Senseless Beating
Laquisha put all of her weight on him as she started swinging her fists down on the feeble man’s head like hammers, without pulling her punches. Her daughter stood there as she was ruthlessly assaulting the elderly man, with nobody around to help…
Escalated Higher Than Expected
Rodolfo kept his hands up, trying to shield himself, but Laquisha easily went around them, pulverizing him. But her assault didn’t end there; she reached for a nearby object and smashed his face with it, making his screams pierce through the air…
An Unusual Weapon
He was horrified to feel cold blood dripping down his face, making him shiver whenever the crazy woman breathed on it. He opened his eyes to take a look at what she used to hit him, and was shocked to see that it was a brick, stained with his own blood.
A Terrified Witness
A woman who walked nearby, named Misbel, heard the commotion and wanted to see what was going on. When she turned the corner, she was horrified to find the elderly man being pummeled by the monster. She started recording a video, and watched in horror as Laquisha struck him with the brick once more.
Act With Prejudice
Rodolfo was crying as the woman gave him no mercy. “Go back to your country!” she screamed with pure hatred as she repeatedly struck him with the brick, splattering it with more and more blood each time. Even at this point, Rodolfo wouldn’t be let go any time soon…
Endless Torture
Misbel yelled at the maniac to stop, only for her to be ignored. Laquisha just kept on going, and it seemed like it wouldn’t end for Rodolfo. The worst part of the situation comes up when a group of four men enter the scene…
More Threats Coming In
They all join in Laquisha’s assault, kicking and punching Rodolfo without holding back. He was struck in the side of the head, on his stomach, on his sides, and everywhere else on his body. Misbel didn’t want to see the assault any longer, and called the police.
No Witnesses
Laquisha noticed that Misbel was trying to do this, and didn’t want to have a witness reveal the atrocity she committed. She moved her focus from Rodolfo to Misbel, aiming the brick at her. Then, without warning, she flinged it towards her.
Averted Attention
In a panic, Misbel reacted quickly and ran to the side, dodging the now blood stained projectile. When the four men stared at her, she knew it was her cue to get out of there as quickly as possible.
The End Of Their Assault
After she fled the scene, the group of barbarians decided to resume their onslaught. When one of the men were about to continue kicking Rodolfo, they all started hearing sirens in the distance. Not wanting to get caught, the cowards fled, leaving the old man to lie in his blood.
Help Has Arrived
When the police and ambulance arrived on the scene, they found Rodolfo on the ground, struggling to breathe while trying to see through the blood coating his eyes. They also saw the blood coated brick, which gave away the context of what happened. They immediately sent him to the hospital, hoping he would get out alive…
Harmful Injuries
Rodolfo Rodriguez suffered 2 broken ribs, a broken jaw, broken cheekbones, and bruising throughout his face and his entire body. Although he is still recovering from these injuries, he left the hospital alright, and shared the incident with his family.
Caught Red Handed
Misbel said, “When I take the picture, she said, ‘Oh, he tried to touch my girl.’ I saw everything, this is a lie. And when the guys came, they hit him in the face, his body, everything.” Thanks to Misbel’s video evidence and DNA testing from the brick, the police were able to quickly arrest Laquisha Jones and press charges on her.
What Will Happen To The Persecutors?
If she ends up being convicted for her original charge, which was attempted murder, Laquisha Jones could face 29 years in prison or less. The likelihood of her being bailed out is extremely low, as prosecutors rightfully suggested her bail be set to $1.25 million. However, to this day, the four men who also participated in Rodolfo Rodriguez’s beating haven’t been found, and are still lingering the streets.
