When it comes to asking a girl to prom night you need to be creative, especially if you want the answer to be ‘YES’!
Like many people, you may have mixed memories when it comes to your own prom experience back in high school. At the tender age of 18 you have to have your wits about you and muster up all your courage. After all you’ve been waiting all year to ask your high school sweetheart to the prom.
Asking a girl to the prom is a very daunting task, but if you make the question creative you can cut through the fear and just ask.
If you don’t want to follow the usual drill, approaching the girl you want to ask to the prom awkwardly and trying to fumble out the question there are better options at hand. You also have a way better chance of getting the answer you want if you make the proposal creative and original.
1. Say it on the sidewalk
If you’re the artistic type, and even if you’re not, you probably have a friend who is so don’t be shy to ask them for a favor. You can get some great street chalk in local stores and then go ahead and draw the question on the sidewalk outside the girls house or on the way to school. Drawing the word ‘prom’ or ‘Say yes!’ with a nice design is a great way to ask.
2. Watch a Prom movie
There are some great prom themed movies you can rent or download like ‘Pretty in pink’ and ‘Napoleon Dynamite’ which will help to set the mood. If she doesn’t get the hint that you are about to ask her the million dollar question, she probably isn’t the girl worth asking!
3. Prom pizza
So here’s the deal, you invite your prospective prom date out for pizza. Simple enough so far right? You then go ahead and order a large pepperoni pizza ensuring you have arranged with the pizza shop in advance for them to write the word ‘Prom?’ with pepperoni on the pizza itself. When she opens the box she’ll be nicely surprised and hopefully so will you!
4. Being persuasive
If you think it might be a long shot and you aren’t 100% sure the girl you are about to ask is gonna say yes don’t fret. Buy a notepad and write on the front ‘Reasons you should go to the prom with me’, then go ahead and write a list inside of all the good reasons why she should say yes. This is one of the most creative ways to ask a girl to prom night, especially if your reasons are good!
5. Play a video game
Whether its your xbox, wii or a two player game on your smart phone this is a great way to ask your prospective prom date the question, and is a great way to give her a surprise. At the end of your favorite game, providing you get a high enough score, instead of writing your name in the high score board write the word ‘Prom?’ She will get the message and you will get a YES!
