Watching girlfriends on TV shows often shape your #squadgoals and bring you closer together. And in 2015, there’s no better group of girls than ones on Girls, the HBO show staring Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet and Jemima Kirke.
While Hannah, Marnie, Shoshanna, and Jessa all have their serious quirks and issues, they each have redeeming qualities that make you love them. But what does your favorite “girl” say about you?
HANNAH
You are the awkward girl in your group. You might be a hipster, a writer, or someone who’s just very clumsy. You are definitely clumsy, and have no filter when you speak. But your friends always come to you for advice because you’re the most honest person they know. You tend to be very impulsive, especially when something bad happens in your life. You have a lot of baggage, but instead of letting it define you, you let it inspire you. But despite all your issues, you’re the definitive glue of your group.
MARNIE
You’re the “chill girl,” in the sense that you work really hard to make other people think you’re cool and collected. You’ve been called “basic” at least once, because you tend to follow the crowd in terms of things that are popular. You put up a wall all the time, even when you’re breaking down inside. Because of this, it’s hard for you to make friends, but once you do, you’ll stay with them for life. You can be a little self-centered, but that’s because you’re so worried about being hurt. You can be a bit overwhelming to strangers, but you have a heart of gold, and once people get to know you, they love you.
JESSA
There’s a picture of you in the dictionary next to the phrase “free spirit.” You’re the girl who always has a tale to share about her crazy travels and experiences with strange men. You may never win “never have I ever,” but that’s because you’ve been lucky enough to experience everything. You are indecisive, but passionate about whatever thing is holding your attention at the moment. Your restless nature makes it hard for you to stay in one place, and harder to keep a relationship strong. That means you are very particular about your friends, because you don’t let any baggage hold you down. You only keep in touch with people who really mean something to you.
